Happy Birthday to Us

In the immortal words of Ike Turner, “Where’s my sandwich, biatch?” What does that have to do with our one-year anniversary? Who cares? We’re all about non-sequiturs and Ike Turner quotes.

But moving on ...

Regular contributor Jonas Micah officially joins the AntiMuse masthead this month as a Staff Writer. His duties include reviewing books, writing witty articles and laundering money through our Cayman Islands account. Let’s give him a hearty welcome and hope he quits giggling every time I say “masthead.”

Jonas e-mailed me about his new position:

This, like, totally rocks more than that time I rolled a natural 20 on the saving throw when that Mind Flayer attacked my Level 17 Barbarian in D&D.

Keep on rockin’ in the free world,
Jonas “Neil Young” Micah

In other site news, we’ve posted a sentimental look back at the untold history of our first year. Here are just some of the shocking revelations you learn about:

  • r.thomas’s Robitussin addiction
  • J.D. Hallmark’s secret burlesque show
  • the location of Jimmy Hoffa
  • the secret of the pyramids
  • ...and the secret of The $25,000 Pyramid

And, finally, AntiMuse celebrates Valentine’s Day with several pieces about romance (by romance, I mean vitriolic hatred and suicidal loneliness). Ain’t love grand?

Now, get to reading. And here’s to another year of lame jokes and obtuse poetry. Salut!

Michael Haislip is the editor of AntiMuse. For 6 years, he published the cult favorite American Assassin magazine, churning out almost 1000 pages of commentary and humor in that span. In his spare time, Michael is a freelance writer and musician. He also wishes it known that he has the longest biography out of all the staff writers.
